Egg Science was built as a local calculation tool, not a connected service. Your egg size inputs, starting temperature, altitude readings, Doneness Atlas selections, and saved Recipe Cards are processed and stored entirely on your device using standard iOS storage.
With your permission, Egg Science reads your device's barometric pressure sensor to estimate elevation and auto-correct the boiling point used in the heat-diffusion model. This reading is used only for the on-device calculation and is never transmitted off your device. You can switch to manual altitude entry at any time in Settings.
Saved Recipe Cards, past Sous-Vide Matrix selections, and your preferred grading-standard region are kept in local app storage so they're available next time you open Egg Science. Deleting the app removes this data from your device.
Egg Science is a general-audience culinary tool and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children, because no personal data collection occurs in the app.
If our approach to on-device processing ever changes, this page will be updated with a new effective date. Continued use of Egg Science after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Questions about this policy or how sensor data is used locally can be sent to chelseapalmer025@gmail.com.
